Can you believe, it’s the start of the last day of our Crowdfund Campaign to launch a Juice Academy , we’ve managed to raise £13, 631 so far and it’s the last 24 hours to meet the Mayor of London’s pledge of £10,000 , the rumors are true – if we don’t meet it by this evening , we lose it all .
But hey -65 days later , we are 61% on our way , it took a little nudge to hit our 50% mark but we did it and being one of the last of the 20 to hit their target , that was all that was needed to fan the flames .
So , imagine getting a mammoth pledge from Quintain this week with an extremely fruitfull package to boot , that was enough to keep the engine going full throttle .
Pretty excited about it all , but the reality is the support , comes with terms and conditions
(a small matter of a crowdfund target )
I know , I know …… 24 Hours to go and I am looking out for a miracle – call me naive , but I still feel slightly optimistic , that maybe – just maybe , someone out there will help to wipe our shortfall ( Don’t laugh just yet , Funnier things have happened)
All I have to say on the matter is
Never give up on your vision because every so often an opportunity comes along
You can’t knock it …
Especially if it knocks first ,
Our story to date
Since launching our liquid food bar and piloting our ‘Juice Academy’, we’ve reached out to over 500 community members under the age 16, teaching them about healthier alternatives to readily available and widely advertised sugary beverages.
Our community is filled with fast food take Away’s stretched throughout the borough and very minimal alternatives to choose from .
Due to income restrictions many families are not able to access affordable foods and where available the majority of health programmes promote the benefits of healthy eating rather than the benefits of healthy drinking .
With alcholism on the steady , Diabetes on a slow rise and Obesity to the older generation evident – this is a great way to create alternative community co-hesion methods through our Interactive workshops (Tailored for diverse groups )
Note to our current backer’s
A massive show of gratitude to those who have pledged / Donated a gift in kind to make this endeavour a reality .
From a humble second hand stall in Harlesden , we find ourselves raising funds to expand the brand to offer educational solutions , we are currently at risk of losing £13,631 , if we don’t meet our target .(Let that sink in )
With your pledges we can increase our outreach and create even greater impact via our academy.
This is a great opportunity to teach locals how to grow/cook/sell their own food products , create employment opportunities and put Brent on the map for healthy , happy residents .
The market stall will be run by our allotment and academy goers who are an incredibly diverse mix of ages, ethnicities and incomes. It’ll teach them valuable self employability skills whilst making healthy and affordable drinks for all the local community to benefit from.
What we’ll deliver:
- Production equipment to sustain market demand
- Design and plan future academy and self employability programmes
- Support a minimum of 20 young people a month through referral /practical work experience placements
- Website makeover to help increase our outreach
- Launch the Pop Up Market Place and invite all backers for a free juice!
Why it’s a great idea:
It’s hard for new social good businesses to get off the ground, even though they often have the best solutions to local problems because they experience them first hand. The marketplace is a great opportunity for other entrepreneurs to come together and make a direct impact on their community whilst enhancing the local economy
The market will help raise our profile, enabling us to reach the wider community, providing them with a healthy and nutritious alternative whilst creating training , voluntary and self employment opportunities for a minimum of 20 young people.
The market stall will also help us to continue our Root to Market programme and Academy, helping us to empower more families .
If you haven’t done so already …

We do not want to depend on funding on a long term basis , products sold on the market stall and services will go towards sustaining the Juice Academy , staff and on-going costs which will help the community become responsible consumers whilst enabling older residents to enjoy the therapeutic side to green spaces.
Produce grown and not used will be offered to low income families who find it hard to purchase healthy food.
You have 1 life, Make it fruitful
Much love , The Juice Lady
